Modern Poetry "ModPo"
This is a course designed by The University of Penn's Creative Writing Program and one that the scholars shall take on Coursera.

This is meant to be a 10-week course covering 70-poets and 100-poems from America's Imagist Movement.
​
Spearheaded by Emily Dickinson and Walt Whitman, the course goes through WWI poets, into William Carlos Williams to Gertrude Stein, into the Harlem Poets then to the Beats with Bob Kaufman's Jailhouse works...

As the director of the Center for Programs in Contemporary Writing at University of Pennsylvania, ​Al has a passion for poetry and teaching and is the one that pushed for this Vietnam chapter of ModPo magic with Troy Phillips - our courses teacher, specifically challenging Troy to deliver the hardest of all nuts to crack: Gertrude Stein to Vietnam scholars.
